Journey to Western United States

Since we had come back from our journey to Western Canada, we were thinking about making a similar trip in United States. It is no longer a question of forty days but of at least two months .We had to choose a route, and places to visit. Not an easy job, there are so many possible choices. With Microsoft Streets and Trips, we planned the route, then looked for documentation on places to visit.

We left home on 2004 April 30, and planned to come back in Ontario for "UltraLight Delight" Boler Gathering, in Emily Park.

We found particular interest in Lancaster, PA, the Amish Country; Pidgeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN, Nashville and Memphis; Albuquerke and Santa Fe, Phoenix, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and all the magnifiscence of Pacific Coast, from San Diego to the entrance of Oregon.

In Portland, OR we have been hosted by two lovely people, Pat and Paul Gutt, colleague on Fiberglassrv website, amateur woodworker, and home made wine maker, whom I share these interests with. Paul guided us for a memorable tour in Portland.

Going on, we followed Columbia River Gorges, then traveled across Idaho and Utah. We saw Salt Lake City and the Mormon Temple. Then we came to the extraordinary Bryce Canyon and crossed many other amazing colored canyons on the road to Colorado.

From visited places and scenic roads, we have taken about ten hours of video capture on a digital camescope, that I edited a three hours film from.
